Presley’s sensational second LP, Elvis, originally released by RCA-Victor in October 1956. It is widely regarded as one of the best albums of the Fifties and of his entire career. All of the songs from the album were recorded during a series of sessions that took place at Radio Recorders, in Hollywood, on September 1-3, 1956, with the sole exception of the album’s final song, which was cut at RCA Studios in New York on January 30 of that same year. Elvis spent four weeks at Nº 1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in 1956, making him the first recording artist to have two albums go straight to number one in the same year.
